92 Trunk Pull Down Motor
My trunk pull down motor does not work. There is power going into the motor. What I do not know is if there are other problems that will not make it work such as bad switch and how to tell if it is the switch. The dealer price for the assembly is $ 95 but Ive seen advertisements for $ 50.00 on the web. I am bidding on ebay for a used one for $ 20.50 plus $12 for shipping. Any thoughts?

Re: 92 Trunk Pull Down Motor
Happened to my 94, it's the little black switch. In the mean time, you can someway jump the wire to pull down the trunk and use it like a convenional trunk

Re: 92 Trunk Pull Down Motor
new motor only from dealer cost me 18.00 as i remember. also there is a switch on the trunk lid which turns on motor when it closes. look up when your trunk is opened and hold switch down on motor with one hand and hit switch with other hand thats above you to see if it works

Re: 92 Trunk Pull Down Motor
Thanks for the tips. I looked closely and I see 3 switches. One on top and two down. The is a small switch which I suppose detects that the trunk is closed and stops the motor. There is one switch above and one below. Which one needs changing? My guess is the top one. Is this correct?

Re: 92 Trunk Pull Down Motor
It was the lower switch on mine, replaced it, and it worked fine.

Re: 92 Trunk Pull Down Motor
Finally, I installed the new switch or actuator as the parts people would like to call it, and it works. But I have one question. Is the motor suppose to get hot after two pull downs? Not sure if this is normal, I disconnected the power after getting the latch low enough for the trunk to close tight.

Re: 92 Trunk Pull Down Motor
Do you mean hot, or warm? I've never touched one before...
Hot-Burning to the touch warm-warm, easily touched

Re: 92 Trunk Pull Down Motor
I'd say don't worry about it.
