MKIII Golf GTI 16V 1997 Idle Problem sits at 2000 revs
Can Anyone help please... i don't know whats wrong with my Car it sits at 2000 revs, how can i adjust it so it can be back at 750 revs.. i have looked at everything.. any suggestions???

I'm not familiar with this model, but I'd look for vacuum leaks, some of the hoses can be tricky to find.

I have the same car as you and this happened to me too, only the rev's fluxuated a bit from 2000rpm. yeah check the vaccum hoses for leaks but also make sure your distributor is dry and that it's working correctly, mine got wet after driving through heavy puddles, I just dryed it and it was fine.

Check your throttle bodie too, although i am not familier with the car it could be your air regulator.
If its to far out it will be flooding the engine with air and making it rev higher. |
