Electrical Mayhem II

I have a 2000 V6 3.2L Rodeo.

A long time ago, I noticed that the passenger marker light would not always blink when the remote entry was clicked to open or close. Even today it, occasionally blinks but usually does not.

A few weeks ago, my intermittant wipers started halting and not running through their full return cycle.

A couple of days ago, my cruise control stopped working. My peculiarly, it seems to not be working when the headlights are on.

I also lost my "chirp" when I use the remote to lock the car.

Finally, when I have been running the car and turn it off, but key still in ignition, I get an alarm every time I step on the brake pedal, much like the key in ignition alarm or headlight left on alarm.

I have read (in this forum) that the wiper problem is related to the circuit card and relays in the gray box on the passenger side above the glove box. I pulled this and noticed that if I tap on the card, the relays actuate OK and the wiper blades work properly. Currently they are now working OK but I still have all the other problems. But I am not convinced that the card is the problem but rather maybe something upstream is the true culprit.

I have also read about the switches on the steering column and how they can manifest some of these problems.

I am a pretty good technician, but I am flying blind here. I have a maintenance CD on order that should help.

In the meantime, has anybody had similar issues with these systems that they have traced to a common cause? I have done all the basics...i.e. fuses, connectors, etc.

Battery is only a few months old...it is the first battery I have put in after the original failed.
