starting problems (hard start)

I'm the owner of a 93 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 4.0 liter 6 cylinder, automatic transmission. My Jeep is hard to start and most of the time I can't get it started. I had to get a new fuel pump installed about a year ago and 7 months ago I had to have a new PCM (Powertrain Control Module) installed on it. Also seven months ago I installed new spark plugs and wires. I installed the Bosch Platnum +4 spark plugs. I checked the fuel line and I'm getting good pressure. So I don't think its the fuel pump. I don't think its the ignition either because it cranks good. When I try to start the Jeep it will crank good but just not fire up. Any ideas or suggestions please email me at [email protected]

Thanks

Re: starting problems (hard start)

I have the same car (ltd 4x4), the same problem and had the same repairs done on it. It is the third time the same problem has happened in the last three months.
I got a suggestion that replacing the Crank Position Sensor might solve the problem.
Does anyone can help to clarify it?
Can I find more information about the vehicle in tech books like Chilton?
Thank you.

My brother had the same problem I put in a new Crank positioning sensor and his problems went away. Try this first its a common problem.

Had the same problem with a '91 Cherokee. Mine would crank sometimes, and at other times just wouldn't start at all. Went through all the other solutions and nothing seemed to work. Finally a friend suggested it might be one of the relays in the fuse block under the hood. I switched the relays around (they are all the same) and lo and behold the problem was fixed! Apparently the problem with the bad relay was intermittent, had a lot to do with temp and humidity. At any rate, after identifying the faulty relay, a new one only cost about $8.00. Try it, it may work!
