s-10 has mind of its own with flashers

I have a 1991 chevy s-10 4.3 v-6 with a digital dash. It seems about every fourth month i turn the truck on and the flashers will be on!!! the flasher button isnt pushed in or on. the flashers will flash for about 2 minutes then stop! it does this for about 20 times after i start it then it goes back to normal for about another 4 months. has anyone else had a problem like this or know whats wrong?????
