91 Lumina Euro 3.1 Crank Sensor

I see it but whats the best way to get at it to change it? I had it on the ramps and it looks like a bear to get to..........

it aint fun. you need to get it from underneath and behind....once you ditch the 8mm bolt holding it in, in a perfect world your fingers will pull it out, on a 13 year old car, some prying and breaking of the plastic head is in order.

Man, it's not fun trying to get that thing out. The hardest part is trying to get that 8mm bolt out that's holding it. After that it's smooth sailing.
If the old one is stuck, you carefully use a flathead screwdriver to create a little seperation so you can pull it out.
Like quaddriver said, the hardest part is getting that bolt out. After that, it should take you about 2 or 3 minutes to take the old one out and put the new one in and put the bolt back in (ironically, the bolt is easier to put back in than it is to take out).

Good luck and be patient. It might take sometime to get that bolt.

another thing u can try.....put the car in park with the brake set, hook up a come-along to the 'rear' motor lift point and anchor it to something solid FORWARD of the car, remove the front 2 motor mount wishbones, now ratchet the motor forward as far as it will go - if you lay a moving blanket on top of the motor, you can now lay on it and reach down around the exhaust. its blind, BUT, its a straight shot to get at the bolt and the crank sensor. if the car is on ramps at the same time, someone peeking underneath can guide you.
