2000 Pathy....Rough Ride

I have a 2000 Pathfinder 4x4. It seems to ride rough, especially in the back seat. The rear shocks don't seem to give at all. You feel every bump in the road. I am wondering if the rear shocks are adjustable or if they should be replaced with a different type of shock that will allow for a more comfortable ride. If they should be replaced, with what and for how much? and if they can be adjusted, what is the best way to do so? I realize in a 4x4, I can't expect it to ride like a car, but I've driven trucks all my life and even they have a little give in the suspension. When you ride in the back of this thing, your butt feels like its in the pothole. Any suggestions?
Thanks, Demps

Shocks & suspension

I too have noticed in the last month a dramatic change in the ride. I have planned a number of suspension overhauls starting with the shocks.

If you want adjustables, look at Rancho RS9000X 9-way adjustables at http://www.gorancho.com/. I have seen them on the Internet as low as $72 for my '93 Pfinder. Priced them locally as high as $125 each [mainly at tire centers]. But ended up buying them at a local 4x4 shop for $83 ea. The R5000 are standard non-adjustable shocks at a much lower price. Check out eBay for the OE adjustable shocks also.

And last, check out NissanPerformanceMag.com's Project Pathfinder at http://www.nissanperformancemag.com/...pathfinder.php for suspension mods ideas. RC

Hey, Thanks RatioCynic. I will have to look into these shocks. You have helped me with a great deal of leg work. I will let you know what turns up.
