My wife just called to inform me that her 1997 Blazer failed emissions. I did a quick search for the codes that were read: P0740, P0753, P0758, P1860. What I found was an archive from here: 1998 Jimmy Check Engine Light It appears that this gentleman had the identical failure.
The light came on the day that I installed a remote starter on the vehicle. The transmission also acted strange once that day. When pulling up a parking lot, the transmission slipped as if it were in a higher gear that it should be. This hasn't happened since but the light still comes on from time to time. Could this be "noise" in the line from a loose connector causing the ECU to get false reading? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciatted! Tom
