1994 camaro Z28 6speed, gear question

has anyone installed 3.73 gears, what does it feel like? Does it affect your ability to burn out and do donuts?

well, the stock open rear came with 2.73's, and the borg warner rear had 2.77's like are in my IROC. i imagine that you could have ordered an auto with the deeper gears, couldnt tell ya for certain.

Re: 1994 camaro Z28 6speed, gear question

Most Auto's GM made with 7.5 rear had 2.73 Gears but most year's had the option of using 3.23 and some could even use 3.42 but most only had the option of using 3.23 or base 2.73

Re: 1994 camaro Z28 6speed, gear question

not that i'm an expert but i've allways found a ford 4.11 rear end is the way to go. but not if your using it for travel. creats lots of smoke and you get up to top speed quick. but rpm's go up. used to use in my 82 for the races and even against nos i did very well. but moved to the boonies and blew it up going back and forth to work . used to love hearing them cry because they spend thousands of dollars on performance equip to get beat by a stock geared right.
