Test drove a 00 EX today

i was looking for a 99-01 civic Si to replace my 90 integra GS but they didnt have any (local automall) so i just drove the EX for kicks. My GOD was it slow. SOHC VTEC is WEAK. all i heard was like a little buzz when i hit vtec, no jolt, no extra pull, nothing. i was able to spin the tires going into 2nd tho... not really, they slipped though. i guess its cuz the stock tires are like 3 inches wide..

i must say, i am very unimpressed. my 13 year old integra with 210,000 miles on it is WAY faster than the EX.

what i have done to my car:

intake
straight pipe
2 10" subs
amp
15" GS-R wheels (heavier than stock)
lowered 2.5" on Skunk2 springs

So you got into a little economy car and were expecting what? You got exactly what honda produces, little power, lots of economy. And you're comparing a D16 to a B18 with intake and exhaust? Yeah, that's fair

i didnt think it was going to be neck snapping fast, but i expected a little more..

i mean the HP rating for that car is 127 hp right? the hp rating for my car is 130. i also have 210,000 miles so my hp has deteriorated, plus a heavy stereo, plus heavier than stock wheels... DOHC
