97 trans and cat conv problems

i have been reading on other forums that the 97 non sho tauruss have had transmission problems and catalytic converter problems at about 90k to 100k does anyone have any info to back this up im thinking of buying one so any replies would be greatly appreciated

by 97, they have fixed most, if not all problems. it was only early 90's trannies that died early.

My 97 tranny died at about 80,000 miles. There are numerous TSBs about their problems.
