I've reached a dead end. Engine overheating and radiator fans not kicking on - fuses/relays are working. Problem with my wiring?
2002 Grand Prix GT, 180K.
Engine is overheating and the radiator fans do not kick on. Ran a simple circuit test with the engine running, temp was well over 220. A/C does not work so I can't bypass the sensor that way. All fuses and relays are tested and working fine. I have another Grand Prix which I ran this same test on and the circuit tester lights up without issue. I also tried doing a bypass by hooking up some simple jumper wires from the neg/pos battery terminals to the fans but I can't seem to get it to work - I think im just doing it wrong as I have next-to-zero experience with electrical work. (There are 3 positive terminals and a ground on the fan, tried touching the positive to all three individually while the temp was close to 250 F) Is this a problem with the wiring? I don't know what to do and I'm not about to rip the fans out unless I know for sure the motors are bad, but this circuit test makes me feel like that isn't the problem -- though it's exceedingly rare for wiring to just take a dump.

Just changed the temperature sending unit on mine fixed it

Please provide your definition of overheating:
Is it belching coolant out into the overflow tank? Or is it merely a little high looking on the temperature gauge? 220 is not overheating, the low fans don't come on until 227, and high-speed fans at about 237. This is by the computer. So with a scan tool hooked up and reading the engine coolant temp (not the gauge on the dash) what does the computer see as the temperature when it is "overheating? It can be tough to generate enough heat (engine temp) this time of year to engage fans, even in an enclosed garage....

you never answered anybody.. did you get your problem in the GT fixed?? interested to find out if it was something simple like fuse, or fan relay; or even the temp. sending unit; like Dsaulen suggested.. OR- if it was something deeper, like fan motors toast, or ECM acting up? or did you just trade it in, for a newer GM?
