What part is it?
Hello. I have a 2006 dodge durango,4.7 liter. I drove it for five miles and the temperature gauge shot up. Got it home and it started spewing coolant. It's coming from the casing behind the thermostat housing. Not sure what part it is or what caused it to leak. It's on the passenger side of engine. Has a pulley on it. Seemed to be pouring out of the gasket there. It's my daily driver. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Re: What part is it?
Any chance you can post a picture of the part that is leaking? Based on your description I'd guess you're referring to the water pump, but having a picture would sure help identify the part.

Re: What part is it?
Thanks for replying. I found some diagrams online. It's the water pump.should I replace anything else while I got it opened up?

Re: What part is it?
I'm pretty sure these are the ones that have a little hose coming off the top for the few extra dollars I always replace it. Just because it's a pain if you have to do it later.

Re: What part is it?
Right, if it has a bypass hose, replace it. You might consider replacing the thermostat and gasket while you have the cooling system drained. And if you are in to preventive maintenance, you should replace the upper radiator hose, lower radiator hose, heater hoses, and radiator pressure cap along with installing fresh coolant.
