replacing the stock stereo with aftermarket dvd
i have a 2000 eddie bauer expedition with the factory mach 1 stereo in it. i love the way it sounds but i want to replace it with a double din dvd player. i already know i have to cut the plastic tabs to make it fit.
my question is will it work with the factory speakers? are these powered speakers like on my cadillac? my cadillac has the bose system with powered bose speakers with amps mounted on each speaker...a total nightmare to change to another aftermarket system. i just dont want to run into that problem again. thanks in advance |

Re: replacing the stock stereo with aftermarket dvd
thought id update this post in case anyone was interested. to answer my own question..yes it can be done. i installed a double din pioneer dvd player with some slight modifications to the area behind the dash. took a little cutting with my trusty dremel tool and a little trial and error but it fits perfect now. i actually searched youtube and found some video help, saw a few pictures on the net that proved its been done before. so if your thinking of it i say go for it. i love the way it turned out
