Query re: '83 AMT Darrell Waltrip Chevy Monte Carlo

Hi All

Just got hold of one of these and I am no NASCAR expert but when comparing to reference pictures I have found there appears to be a lot that is not correct with the shape of the body plus some other things as below:

The wheel arches seem to be too big and not the right shape.
The rear side windows appear to be the wrong shape.
Detail missing around the rear bumper/valance.
Wheel/tyre diameter maybe too small?
Strengthening bars that should be positioned behind the front and rear windscreens are incorrectly moulded onto the outside and there are 4 instead of the correct number of 3.
Front spoiler appears to be too shallow.

I just wondered if anybody else has this kit and has also noticed that it does not appear to be correct. It is strange because the proportions of AMT models are normally very good.

Is it worth persevering with it or would I be better off getting a Revell/Monogram version which seems to be a much better kit?
