My one came from Japan. Can't recall the brand either LSI or Doyusha or something... still got some like Savanna Coupe GSII '72, Mazda Cosmo AP '76 and Subaru R-2 Deluxe '69.

The Revell kit is a rebox of the obscenely accurate, pleasantly detailed, and classically styled BRE (Brock Racing Enterprises, also known as the first Nissan factory supported race team in the United States) #46 Datsun 510. It's a fun little kit with the most beautiful set of Weber carbs I've seen this side of the Accurate Minatures Corvette Grand Sport kits. Both it and it's big brother 240Z companion are evidence of Revell's one time prowess at kitting sports cars.

I bought that kit like 2 days ago, so far I have the engine built, frame painted, and the body primed... going good so far, I think the model is really detailed good for a Revell model.. there are spark plugs in the side of the block and shizznat.

I was looking for some reference pictures as well. Thought of doing the BRE #46 but didn't want to risk frigging up the model... I'm just going to make it sort of an Autocross car, put some racing buckets in it and stuff.

BTW I can't beleive how small the model is, It is smaller than my Acura Integra!

Haha, thats funny, me and my friend went to a model shop the other day, I bought the 510 and he bought the 240Z, there where actually 2 versions of the 240, one had a strip package and the other didn't

Well, you wouldn't have to risk frigging up the model to build the BRE #46. All it would take is a good Bright White/Candy Red two tone job and a set of decals. The 510 kit is the BRE #46 kit.

And yep, 510's are teeny. Only thing they dwarf is stuff like Triumph Spitfires and Mini Coopers.

The cage should still be in the kit. It was a pretty simple cage, easy to scratchbuild.

The two easiest materials to build cages out of are either rod styrene plastic (check your local hobby shop and size to taste) or go to your local hardware store and pick up solder. You can bend it to just about any shape, paint it, and glue it with superglue. Plus the stuff costs about $3.00 for a roll that'll do tons of scratchbuilding.

My Dad and I use it unpainted for custom exhausts. It works like a charm.

I bought the Revell one. And no, there isn't a rollcage So I made my own. I'm building mine to look like Sport Compact Car Magazine's Project Rally Beater. I'd say I'm about 1/2 way done.

http://www.sportcompactcarweb.com/pr...lly/index.html

Oh yeah, I wanted to complani about the kit quality Mine came with the shittiest plastic molding job ever!! There were 10 incomplete parts, due to lack of plastic being put in the mold, I guess. And 5 more that were just MIA.. Then when I check their site. I'm only allowed to order 10 parts per kit:zx11pisse So, I put that one on hold, until I email them and bitch em out!
