Hi guys progress is still mind numbingly slow,im still cleaning up the body, i just keep finding flaws but i think this time i've finally sorted out the bumps and lumps.
The body has now been sprayed in its final coat of primer just waiting for it to dry hopefully the first coat of paint will go on over the next few days. Last update i quickly mocked up the diffuser to fill in and give the rear bumper a different look. Pics below are the completed item with vents and rear diffuser cover where meshing will be placed in between the twin exhaust. ![]() ![]() Im working on the interior and in the process of scratch building the exhaust. I will post progress on these soon, thanks again for looking. |

This car will be gorgeous when you finish with it. Usually I just lurk, but I had to post in your thread, seeing how I love how you document the progress. Keep up the great work, Id love to see this thing finished.
And we all know when you want a kit to go fast you end up spending more time than it requires hah.

Hi guys, progress has slowed a bit since i was away on business last week, however I've done a last minute colour switch. it was going to be Italian Red,Light Gun Metal, then finally decided to switch to a color called Capricorn Mica Green, I just wanted something a bit left field and unusual.
This paint is made by Power Plus, Im in Sydney Australia and is available at Big W,Super Cheap Auto and other automotive shops, and its a bargain price of $8.00AUD, this is the second time that ive used this paint and i highly recomend it,once cured its super tough and it polishes to an amazing shine, check out the celica project on my sig to see the results. It does require a bit of patience so dont freak out if you get a bit of orange peel after the second or third coat, once wet sanded and polished i think its better than Tamiya or other paints that i have used, you just have to be prepared to put the work and time in. Ok here's goes! you would think that after these years of spraying cars i would pratice what i preach lol.no matter how new the can is i usually test spray it a few seconds to make sure that it sprays nicely then turn the can upside down till it sprays clear. Well since ive been hangin out to spray this thing i neglected to do this procedure and you can see the crap that ended up on the roof, if this ever happens dont panic just let it dry and wet sand it, which is exactly what i did. ![]() The colour is still not solid yet but you get the idea what its going to look like, the prep work on this body is one of the longest ive had to go through so much bumps and lumps everywhere, i think ive managed to eliminate them all i cantt stress the importance of prep work otherwise it will show up bigtime when the paint is laid.I just cant wait to put a few more coats to get that deep mica green. The wheels will be painted a dark bronze anodised or gold which should contrast the green. ![]() Anyway im back to work on this thing, im hoping to power through and finish this project in the next few weeks since im going on a long trip, thanks again for looking I appreciate the feedback and encouragement.
