Talking For Abstract

:flash:
Abstract - the 98 SV went for the MY2001 6.0 2WD special edition.

I've racked up 3000 miles in just over a month - the car is loosening up nicely. Can't wait to hit 5000 when I think the gearbox will be just right.

6.0 is soooo muc better - although I still love the MY98 SV - hence the special edition 2 WD - never liked the VT.

Have a deposit on the new Diablo replacement - I'm off to the factory on 6/7/8 Spetmeber for a viewing - can't wait - should be fun. I've seen the latest 'scoop' pictures - looks much better than the canto - although I'm very concerned that they seem to be focusing on build quality (which is nice - but not what makes a Lambo a Lambo - if you follow!)

Have attached another piccie of the MY98 SV. I'm off to Donnington in a fortnight to watch the GTR racing again...can't wait!

I have been considering a second Diablo. My dealer is really trying to push a Blue Ely/Snowcorn 6.0 VT on me. What advice can you give me? Should I get the 6.0? What do you like and dislike about it, or should I just wait for the new model? Thanks, I would appreciate your input.

I am the same way. I love driving my car and I have racked up quite a few miles in the time that I have owned it. I know some people who just keep them locked in their garages. There is nothing wrong with that, but I personally would not buy a supercar and leave it at home. Kudos to you for driving it like it is supposed to be driven.

abstract : I agree so much with you on how we should enjoy the car instead of stashing them in the garage hehe.

Oh I have a question for you. Is it actually very expensive to maintain a Lamborghini?

Maintenance

The maintenance on my Diablo have been for the most part painless. The biggest reoccurring problem I have is that my clutch pin slips out once every 6 or 7 months. I have occasional electrical problems, like a window not working, but other than that, my car is solid. Platinum Motors, in Santa Ana California, is one of the only authorized Lamborghini dealerships in So. Cal, and their mechanic there (Courtney) says that diablo engines are bulletproof. Even if something does go wrong, I am covered for practically everything under my warranty, except of course for wear and tear. It is just the little things that need fixing every once in a while. But don't get me wrong, it is not a walk in the park, an oil change costs me $700, tune ups cost me $3,000.

Thumbs up 6.0 - advice

Hi abstract

I would say - go for the 6.0. The chassis is MUCH better - the engine has more low down torque (kinda irrelavent, I know :o) ) the throttle response is better - BUT the VT although being an awesome car - is not what Lambo's are about - in my opinion.

The two wheel drive cars is sooooooo much better - they are only special order - but I would not hesitte in recommending them. The gear change - bizzarly - is much better on the 2WD (viscous coupling ????) And the added bonus of loosing 80+ KGs of weight.

But - overall the 6.0 VT is a better car than my old 98 SV.

Although I rate my new 6.0 2WD as the best (bar a GT).
