Well, I didn't, I said "The bassist wrote most of Ozzy's solo shit".

I know who Sabbath are.

Done.

Well olde Jim sure fits the archetype of the Rock God:
- started out with nothing
- made it to the top/got strung out (not necessarily in that order lol)
- found dead in the toilet/bathtub or choked on his own vomit

He was something though. I've noticed lately that they've been playing a lot of funky Doors music on the classic rock radio stations - these kind of tunes I've never heard before (none of these songs are on the double disc CD or movie soundtrack CD). A lot of the tracks are really cool, got that funky Ghost Song style to them...

Eh BTW, I agree with the honourable mention for RUSH - I have new found respect for that group after seeing them live (its funny because I've hated Rush with a passion almost all my life, now I freakin love them!?)

whose bassist felt he could neither sing nor write, yet penned the band's first #1 hit single in America, several #1's in Britain, and could jam well with Jack Bruce or Geddy Lee on any day

And whose flamboyant, gifted, and imaginative lead singer penned anthems, hits and ballads with heart and wit, giving the world songs that define not only rock and roll, but the human spirit, all the while pushing sexual and social boundaries.

Queen. There will never be another band to match or compare to Brian May, John Deacon, Roger Taylor, and the immortal and dearly missed Freddie Mercury.

:::Yeah, I'm off topic again. Sue me:::

Let me help you out with all those new doors tunes you've been hearing. The last 3 remaining Doors member are digging up old archives of their music and are putting albums together. Check out their site and all the "new" doors tunes.

This, it, crazy. The age we live in where a guy dead for years is coming out with new tunes... its neat.

I thought Ian Astburry was going to be the singer for the "new" Doors (but I'm glad they're doing this instead - no voice could replace Jim).

Re: Greatest Rock Band/singer Of all Time

marduk...death metal band??

Offspring kick major ass (don't like their new shit), but I have their first 6 albums, and Smash, is one of my top 3 all time favorite albums, Ixney is in the top 5, and Americana, is number 6.

Didn't he do lead vocals for the cult?
