2003 Cavalier power window problem, help

thank you, but what would i lube the slider rack/how do i get to it and how would I check the switches (i'm completely ignoring the motor option...17yrs old + part-time job = little $$)

Hello Everyone, Yes this problem is rdiculoous and whoever designed these model cavvys should be shot once in the head and chest! My problem started out just a couple months after buying my used 04 chevy cac ls sport 2 dr coupe. It started with just the passenger window going down fine and then only inching back up. after hitting the button and the window going up a half inch i would have to wait some time to try this process again. A couple weeks later i had this same problem starting with my driver window. After taking my door panels off in the poring rain in a walmart parking lot trying to tap on the motor and work the window up. I started looking into the master switch in the center console, somebody warned me i would have this problem with my cavalier, so i started iinvestigating after i put my door panels back together. I noticed that the switches were suppose to light up on the arrows and AUTO after taking the switchboard apart. I have not replaced this master switch yet but i am going to next week when i get paid. I am almost positive this is the problem. P.S. i did end up getting my windows up in the pouring rain after i took the master switch apart, back together, and gave it a few goood whacks. lol..

i'm working on a 2003 chevy cavalier both back windows wont go up----any suggestions on how to get them up manually, so they'll stay???

is there an easy way to get passenger side back window up and leaving it up with out breaking ribbets on window motor???

Not really.....

Have you checked for power to the motor first? Disconnect the harness to the motor and attach a test light to the harness.....when you press the switch up, it should light, when you press a switch down, it should light....if it doesn't light in BOTH directions, you have a wire or switch problem, not a motor problem...

If it lights in BOTH directions, you need a motor.......these motors are either gear driven or cable driven......if cable driven, you can just cut the cable, move the window upward, and wedge it in place with a piece of wood cut to the right length.....if gear driven, you have to remove the motor, and once again prop it with wood....you have to be careful with the gear driven ones....they have a large spring on the regulator, and when you free the rivets, it can spring the regulator on you, so be careful.....
