I currently have a drag car for sell, but I can't let it go for $5,000, but I will take $9,000, and that would include everything to go racing.
It can be seen on my web page: http://www.fordexp.freehomepage.com/photo3.html I can't tell you 1/4 mile time's I've only ran the 1/8th with it. It's ran a best of [email protected] on the bottle and [email protected] without the nitrous. It 60ft's on average at 2.38 with the wheel's up. I will post a more informative description in the "FOR SELL" section when I can find it. |

there is a Pontiac GTP running 10.3 in the 1/4 it has a wheelie bar that forces up on the rear to lessen the weight transfer though. I spent 2K in my car and only running in the mid 13's

Re: Lookin For My First Drag Racing Car (Have an Idea Of What I Want)
KG, I dunno how old you are, (sounds like you're pretty young), but take it from an old drag racer.... Find any 5.0 Mustang to get started. Make sure the body is sound first and foremost, a tired engine can be rebuilt, and that's what you want to do with it anyway. They're out there, can be had cheap, have almost endless aftermarket support, can make lots of HP, can eventually be worked into awesome drag race cars, and they aren't the same old fart pipe junk you see turning stomachs all over the place.
5 grand isn't a whole lot of money to start with, but find your basic car, get it mechanically sound, take it out to the track and get racing. You can build on it little by little, as you get used to racing and find out what the capabilities of the car are. Good luck!! Sonny |

If you plan on using the car for bracket racing, it doesn't really matter how fast it is. Yeah, it wont be as fun to race a 16-second car, but if you can get consistent times and avoid breaking out, you can beat 9-second cars all day.

If you want to run 1/4 miles fast for cheap, the AWD DSM and Mustangs are the way to go.
