When I was a Marine, I got the tip of a screwdriver lodged into my orbital socket between the eyeball and bone when the it broke off. I was sitting in sick call for 2 hours while they were burning warts off of people instead of getting a 3cm piece of steel from my eye. Painful.

Playing hcokey as a kid I reached down to pick up the puck and one of my buddies flicked a piece of ice that had been lying around on the rink.
Ice stuck right into my eyeball, in the white part not the blue thank god, and to this day I have a nice blood red blotch in my eye.
Good way to freak out my mom though, blood pouring out of my eyeball.

I was aligning the flight controls of a CH-46 helicopter (yaw lower boost actuator to be specific). It has a rod end bearing which fits into a dogleg. The apce to work in is roughly 2 feet across and filled with components, so you cant get a good visual of where you are working. This requires you to use a tool for the alignment process. It was the upp mount, so it is the one that pressure is applied to (think of it as a huge hydraulic lever). Power was off tot he aircraft, and I was alone, so the controls should have been static. I got the phillips driver into the first eye of the dogleg and into the rod end bearing when some jackass on top of the aircraft pushes down on one of the props. The resuld was a massive amount of force being directed into the control I was working on, snapping the driver like a twig. The force of the component moving upwards deflected the piece of metal out of the rod end and into my eye.
