Unhappy BMW Car Alarm

I purchased an OEM BMW car alarm for my 318i convertible and installed it myself over this last weekend. After following all of the steps, it will not arm. I looked at the wiring harness and there are two wires-one yellow/black and the other bule/green that come out in a plug near the connector for the alarm unit. I followed all instructions but the instructions don't mention those wires. Looking at the wiring diagram they are the door unlock and lock wires- the alarm came with the remotes which simultaneously lock the doors and arm the system. Where do the missing wires go in the car- they do have a single connector on the end? Is the reason the alarm won't arm because the door lock/unlock is not working? Thanks.
