Exclamation Back up camera video problems

So I installed a wireless back up camera and the picture wasn't consistent so I ditched the wireless transmitters and got a wire to connect it which fixed the flickering screen problem while not in reverse because it was searching for the signal all the time.
The camera power light comes on when the reverse light is on and the camera has power but when the picture shows up on the monitor it's just a gray screen with black and white lines. I can tell the system is working because if you walk past the camera you can see the lines moving on the monitor but the picture is not coming in clear at all.
I've tried connecting to different power sources and I've checked the connections multiple times and everything is wired correctly. Any suggestions on what could be going on? I really just want this to work!

Re: Back up camera video problems

Did you purchase the monitor and camera as a kit, or did you source each independently? If independently, did you make sure the camera specifications are consistent with the monitor specifications? Do you have a link to the kit or the monitor and camera?

Re: Back up camera video problems

I bought them as a kit, it wouldn't work so I bought a specific cable to make it wired instead of wireless and it still does the same thing.

It sure sounds like the kit is bad then. Are you still able to return or exchange the kit?
