Mass Air Flow

Ok so I just replaced my mass air flow sensor about a week ago. My check engine light just came back on and when I scanned it it said mass air flow sensor. Any ideas what could be causing this to happen again? The codes are P0102, P0440, P0440.

P0440 is the infamous gas cap code. You will get this if the cap is not tight, also if there is a leak in the evap system anywhere.

Inasmuch as the P0102 - does this have the factory intake system (airbox) or has it been modified? Check the condition of the wiring leading to the MAF.

To my knowledge the only thing that has been modified is there was a k&n filter put in it.

If the old one was plugged in the truck would just stall out when I started it.

I thought it was just the code problem not a stall problem.

should idle if the MAF is bad though.

I would check that you have NO leaks after the MAF. also again the connector /wiring/ also check voltages at the MAF you tube has a good video. you will need a frequency meter for ONE of the readings which is the MAF output.

only use MAF cleaner !!!!!!!! carb cleaner will kill it.
