95 Escort fuel pump wiring
I have a 95 ford escort with a 1.9 L engine. I used it as a derby car and am now turning it into a project. It did run and then I took the wiring from inside the vehicle and moved it all forward to cut the back half of the car off. I then hook the fuel pump and everything backed up but now the fuel pump will not turn on. I'm having some trouble comparing the wiring to diagrams that I have found from the Internet and Mitchell On Demand. I have one wire, next to the fuel pump harness connector that looks like I ripped it off from something but cannot find where it should go. It is a black wire so I assumed ground but it did not work. Any suggestions of what to check? I have made sure that the fuel cut off switch is engaged. To eliminate that could I just cut the two wires going to it and connect them together?

Re: 95 Escort fuel pump wiring
My phone won't let me add pictures of the fuel pump connector. I'll try and add some later.

Re: 95 Escort fuel pump wiring
Apparently the pictures are too large. The wire in question is a single black wire that is in the same loom as the fuel pump connector and doesn't have much room to connect to much anything else.
