Dodge Gran Caravan stops while driving
I have a 2003 Dodge Gran Caravan and while I was driving it stopped on me. It will turn on but once you put it in gear it will turn off and wont turn back on. I have replaced the fuel filter and fuel pump.Any help would be appreciated.

"It will turn on but once you put it in gear it will turn off and wont turn back on."
When it won't "turn back on" are you saying the engine won't rotate when you try to start or it will rotate but won't start? I'm leaning toward a torque converter that's locked up but I'm a bit low on transmission knowledge. I'm not sure how you prove that. The only fix for a locked up torque converter when you're not seeing the check engine light and have no codes I have come across on the net is to replace it. That's big bucks. You're going to be better off having a tech diagnose it. Maybe someone with some know how can jump in here and give you that silver bullet. |
