Front end popping noise
I have a 00 Silverado 1500 Z71, 4.8, Auto trans. Truck has 220,000 miles on it. I recently noticed a popping noise in the front end when starting from a dead stop and when I come to a complete stop. Any ideas? Bushings Maybe?

Re: Front end popping noise
with this mileage could be the control arm bushings, also the motor mounts. jack up front end and check out everything and grease front end. use lithium based grease ep2.

Re: Front end popping noise
As stated, check ft end for wear/loosness. Pay particular attention to the through bolts of the upper control arms, have seen these work loose on several occasions.
