Ok i have a 1990 ext with 173k miles an it runs fine but when i put it in gear is doesnt wanna go it acts like it wants to shut off but the rpms are still up so im guessing its the tranny. when i go to pull off its like theres no power getting to the trans an wen i let off the gas itll start to slowly climb up a bit. its wierd cause it runs fine in park. acts up in reverse too

Re: 1990 Aerostar Tranny problem i think
Welcome to the Forum!
From what you say, it sounds like the engine is running fine, but it fails to move when put in Drive or Reverse. First things first. Check the fluid level in the transmission with the engine runnning and the ransmission in park. |
