1964 Jaguar Type E Low Drag Super light

1/24 Profil24 resin curbside. Paint is Krylon Hunter Green followed by Omni 2 part clear. Lots of Photoetch makes the build interesting. Built straight from the box. Trickiest part was the windows... There are no window frames!

Quite simply love it - my favourite type/period.

Beautifully put together and finished.

Have to say though that the panel lines look disappointingly soft on that kit. Did you consider filling and re-scribing?

Re: 1964 Jaguar Type E Low Drag Super light

Looks great

I got the glass to fit well, but I wasn't happy w/the visible glue joint, so I wet the joint (I used Formula 560, thankfully), removed the glass/glue, then did the modern "Sharpie outline" on the inside glass to make the glue joint invisible. I prefer the clean look vs. what I had.

I really enjoyed building mine, even if it was during a LeMans palooza. Probably the most beautiful E Type ever.

Looks cool, Dave.

I have no reference material, but wasn´t there a rubber gasket around the windows at tine 1:1 car?

Re: 1964 Jaguar Type E Low Drag Super light

Brilliant finish, looks superb! The lightweight E-Types were fantastic looking cars. I am in the process of trying to make a lightweight E-Type from an old Airfix kit and yours has given me some much needed inspiratrion! I bought a set of the Profil 24 wheels to use on it because the Airfix ones are rubbish! The Profil 24 kit looks very nice.

The windows look like they were certainly a challenge to fit! I found the image below which shows that if there were window frames they appeared to be quite flush presumably to minimise drag!

Exactly! The only way to really replicate them properly would be to paint them on.... Pretty hard to mask flimsy vacuum formed glass so I passed..

Thanks guys!
