Well Ill tell you guys, I have owned two 1:1's 240's in my past. An early 1971 and a 1972, and let me say, they are a complete blast to own and drive. Words cant even describe the feelings of sitting in one, the sound of the L-series motor, the looks that you get. I LOVE those cars with every fiber of my being. Sadly except for 3 1:18's and 2 1:24's they are no longer a part of my life. Someday I plan to get another 1:1, but who knows when that will be. Stump I think that is part of why I enjoy your thread so much, up remind me of all the great memories of my two old cars…….well that, and your charming personality!

Well, no wonder you're so passionate Spidey....
Yep, I think owning one of these would be the koolest.....as you know.
You have all my well wishes in pursuing your dream to be, once again, a proud "Z" car owner Spidey, good luck man..

And thank you too Robi...

Got paint...?...........You betcha.....
Ok, well yesterday I was busy finalizing the chassis...I added brake line brackets, front and rear, two small guides in the tunnel (to hold handbrake cables) and glued the spare wheel holder in place....
It still looks a bit rough, but most of it will be covered by the fuel tank anyways......Once it's all together, it will get a "dirty" wash over everything....

I also got most of the rear suspension components painted...so I'll be busy assembling today.....

More soon guys, and thanks very much for your loyal support..
cheers
Greg

I have to admit. Although I voted for orange, that blue paint is indeed VERY nice

Thanks mate..Yes, I'm very pleased with how good the colour looks...I've only used it on a 1/24 build, and was a little unsure what to expect on a 1/12.....
I'm hoping the trim (nose and fenders) colour will break it up some...so it won't be over powering...

cheers
Greg

This is looking great! Your little details are incredible, and it looks like you put that paint down perfectly. Awesome!

Greg what color do you use on this model?
Maybe it's one of Tamiya TS' series?

Hi Antonio..

Yes mate, you are absolutely correct.....
It is Tamiya TS-44 Brilliant Blue. I love it......

I ordered (this morning) some Carbon Fiber, from HobbyLink in Japan..
I'm getting the usual black/pewter in 1/12 scale, as well as black/blue (?) in 1/20 scale.....
I'm thinking to use it on the over fenders and a rear spoiler/wing..( I still need to make it.....) I'd like to use blue, if it doesn't appear too small...

cheers mate
Greg

Thanks Russell..
I've been quite on it for a week or two...life keeps getting in the way.., plus I'm anxiously awaiting news on my wheels and tyres...
I sent them away for appraisal, (resin guy) and haven't heard from him yet...

Re: 1/12 Datsun 240ZG

Hey Spidey..

Sorry to keep you on edge man.....things have been moving slowly.
Though, I haven't laid a finger on it in a couple of weeks now....still no word from my tyre maker......
I've had some new items arrive for it, some C/F decal (over-fenders..?..) and some stick-on fabric to do a race seat....

I've been filling time working on some smaller 1/25 builds, but hope to get back on this soon mate.
Thanks for your continuing interest Spidey.
