Bad motor mount cause for transmission slip?
So for awhile now ive noticed at 20 mph my car slips when it shifts. also while idling and driving the engine rocks around quite a bit.
I know i need a new mount cause it looks pretty rough and when i rev the engine a bit it moves way more than it should. Could this be a cause for it slipping? also ive heard you can buy inserts for the mounts instead of having to install a whole new mount and bracket. is this true?

Re: Bad motor mount cause for transmission slip?
I don't see the transmission slipping and the motor mount being blown as being related. Maybe the car feels like its slipping because of the hard shutter from the engine movement.
Inserts only work with good mounts. They won't help a blown motor mount. Don't be cheap....GET A NEW MOUNT!

Re: Bad motor mount cause for transmission slip?
hmm well that is a possibilty. The mount looks fine its just the rubber insert that is all torn up and somewhat missing
![]() could it be that when it shifts the engine doesnt have as much load moves back a bit then when it shifts the whole engine travels forward real quick making it seem like it slips?

Re: Bad motor mount cause for transmission slip?
Nevermind i fixed it. i called a transmission place and told them what it was doing and they said i should try to adjust the band again.
adjusted it and it shifts nice and smooth not even a slight slip even at WOT.
