Motor mounts

I replaced the upper and lower motor mounts and the tranny mount. How hard is it to replace the "rear motor mount" that is located between the upper and lower mounts and attaches to the inner fender well on the pass. side? It's an 02 4 door AT SXT w/ a 2.0L.

Re: Motor mounts

It's easy. Just use a jack and piece of wood to support the engine when you pull the motor mount off.

Re: Motor mounts

I got it off but I had to take off the upper and lower motor mounts, the s-belts, the power steering pump and the bracket that bolts over the timing chain cover that the power steering mounts to in order to have enough room to get it out. I also took off the crank shaft pulley thinking I could get it out through the bottom but there wasn't enough room. It barely fit out through the top. I was glad to see that it was bad when I got it out so the work wasn't for nothing. This mount is hard to find because most parts stores only list the upper and lower mounts but Advance had it after they looked into it deeper. NAPA also listed the part.

Re: Motor mounts

Daughter's 03 Neon has a vibration when the engine/tranny is cold and accelerating. After 2-3 miles, the vibration is gone. Could bad motor mounts causing this? If the motor mounts were bad, seems like it would vibrate constantly and not diminish as the engine/tranny warm up. Advise please! Thanks.
