Troubleshoot P0420 & P0430
2000 S TYPE 4.0 with 131K miles
Tbl with DTC's P0420 & P0430 ''Catalyst Efficiency problem on banks 1 & 2'' The down stream (Post) oxygen sensor sends feedback data to the ECU on how the Catalytic converters are performing. Root cause - Both CAT's were bad. The one on the passenger side (Bank 1) was only 4 Months old,and the drivers side was original. Note: All four oxygen sensors were replaced, because of Age and mileage. See AF->Jaguar->S TYPE->Misfiring I replaced two bad CAT's with Dec's from Catalytic coverter warehouse for $500 + $100 for the install @ Local muffler shop. http://www.catalyticconverterwarehouse.com JAG service would of been a least $3K + All of parts & service to pin point the problem to the Root cause. ![]() I designed the ACME AUTO Emissions Filter (AAEF)to fit on my Jaguar, so my emission parts dont' get contaminated with emission gunk. See http://www.ideabuyer.com/ipavail/acm...issions-filter Last edited by danielsatur; 10-19-2010 at 10:41 PM. |
