Fuel System problem
OK! First, you need to take the breather cover off and have someone turn the key on while you watch the injector. When you first turn the key on, fuel injected cars have a signal that is sent from the computer to turn on the fuel pump and bring it up to pressure. The computer also triggers the injector for a second to prime the throttle body for starting purposes. It sounds like you are not getting primed when you turn on the key. There is a fuel pump relay on the drivers side engine compartment right behind your seat. ( There should be two or three relays there ) If you are not getting a quick spray of gas when you turn the key on. Either the fuel pump is not turning on ( relay ) when you turn on the key, or the computer is not sending or injector is not recieving the signal to turn on . You need to need to get a Chilton and or Haynes manual for this car. I cannot remember the wiring color off the top of my head, but you cannot own a Fiero without being willing to dig in and learn how it operates. You should be abel to hear the fuel pump hum when you turn on the key, you can jack the car up and put it on stands! Then crawl under while someone turns on the key and feel the gas tank, you will feel the fuel pump turn on. If it does not turn on, check the fuel pump relay. Secondly you get into some eletrical stuff which requires a volt meter and pontiac manual to check for signals from the computer, if you are not mechanically incline, I recomend finding someone for this job, have the computer tested. Sometimes you can get a bad injector but it would probably leak or not run at all. I hope some of this helps you, I will try to look up some more specific things for in my manuals
