96 Blazer Shifting Hard

Helllo AF Friends,

Just a quick curious question. When I take off in my blazer it takes awhile to shift out of gear and when it does shit, it shifts very hard. It has good days and bad days. Sometimes it shifts smoothly but others it shifts hard enough to throw the blazer forward. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Shane

Re: 96 Blazer Shifting Hard

I have a 99 blazer that does the same thing. I haven't figured it out yet but if I do I will let you know.

Re: 96 Blazer Shifting Hard

Possibly the U-Joints?

I am no mechanic guru but it possibly could be it. I was talking with someone at work and they said it could be in the transmission. He said it was some kind of shifting something above the transmission pan.

Thanks

Shane

The shifting is computer controlled.
Engine running or transmission problems can cause shifting hard.
Get it on a good engine/ transmission capable scanner and check things out.
Any check engine lights or codes?
What is the mileage?
Has the fluid level and condition been checked?
How long since filter serviced?
How long since tune up?
