13.9 time with stock 95 mitsu gs-t??...help me out with this one

this kid i know said that he can run 13.9 at the track with a 95 mitsu gs-t and all he has on it is a blow off valve. he also said that he is pumping 22lbs psi on his turbo which i think is untrue. is that possible and is there a way i can find out how much it really has. Thanks

dont you hate it when people think that they have the fastest car in the world, it seems all those people live near me

it's very possible...DSMs are easy to make fast.

not on a stock one. at 19-20 psi thier stock fuel system takes a shit on them and they detonate like hell. and a blow off valve isnt gonna do jack for that car unless he has a VPC and can vent into the atmosphere. if he doesnt have a VPC which are fairly expensive and he's venting to atmosphere he's losing power, they dont use map sensors like honda do.

stock times for gst's are 15-15.2's stock times for gsx's are 14.8-14.9 with someone who actually knows how to launch an all wheel drive car.

my friend has a gsx with a buscher 3 inch turbo back and an intake and he ran a 14.6

but yes they are very easily made quik. there are plenty of 10 second eclipses running around

What is a VPC and why does venting into the atmosphere help so much more than just having a BOV?

well they have mass air flow sensors not map sensors so thier airlflow is metered before it actually gets into the manifold. if you vent the stock bov into the atmosphere you will run the car rich because the air thats being vented has allready been metered and fuel will be added for it even though it will no longer be there.

a VPC is a vein pressure controller
here is a description of the hks unit and what it does ffrom a website.

The HKS VPC is a fuel management device that is designed to physically and electronically replace the OEM air metering devices for improved air flow and precise fuel delivery control. OEM air metering devices, such as Air Flow Meters (Flapper/Plunger types) and Air Mass Sensors (Hot wire / Karmen Vortex types) measure the amount of air flowing into the intake manifold in order to properly control fuel enrichment levels. Aside from offering no adjustment or reprogramming options to take advantage of dramatically higher amounts of airflow or larger fuel injectors, the OEM air meter also represents a significant restriction to the intake system. To overcome this restriction, the VPC physically removes the OEM air meter to dramatically improve airflow capacity and converts the system to what is referred to as a speed density system. By utilizing a 16-bit central processing unit, the VPC reads it’s own intake air temperature sensor and absolute pressure transducer (B-MAP sensor) signals and then converts those signals to one that is recognizable by the factory ECU. The VPC also incorporates the ability to upgrade the internal application specific ROM program to correctly compensate and take full advantage of larger, Higher flowing, HKS fuel injectors and/or the greater air flow characteristics of larger turbos. Each application specific ROM program is calibrated for a specific injector size, fuel pumps, camshafts, and/or turbos, ensuring that the correct injector pulse width is calculated to prevent driveability and reliability problems. Since the VPC “piggy-backs” the factory ECU, all factory systems are still intact and operational. Fine tuning of fuel curves can be further achieved by integrating the plug-in GCC or by wiring in a Super AFR.

by using one of these you can now vent your BOV into the atmosphere and fine tune your fuel enrighment better then a standard mass air flow sensor.

oh i should also note that when i said the factory fuel system will take a shit at about 19-20psi of boost i meant with the stock turbo still in place.

There is ABSOLUTLY no need for a VPC in a dsm.. it's just a waste of money.. all you need is a S-AFC.. and vent the BOV back into the Intake.. you can go plenty fast like that. even if you vent it to atmosphere, it only runs rich when the blow off valve vents, so if you're racing it wil backfire, but you won't go ANY SLOWER.. the only bad side effect, is it throws of the idle.. and sometimes you can fix that by adjusting your afc..

also the fuel system in a dsm, isn't bad.. if you're running pump gas, and just put in an upgraded fuel pump ($100 - walboro) you could run ~20psi a couple times at a track.. if he was running say VP C-16 he could run ~20 with the stock fuel pump.. and the BOV was very important in that description, because the stock 2G BOV won't go over 14-15 PSI because it's made out of plastic and leaks very easily..

since you guys are talking about in terms of turbo cars, all turbo cars with stock 200+HP will be quick with the slightest mod depending on weight. But it depends on the car, eclispes are consider to be fast in america but in japan, it's consider to be crap compared to a CRX siR. Wether it's the awd gsx or fwd gst, those cars are less focus on in japan. so that kid you're talking to most likely to give a load of bull running with those mods on a 3000lbs car.

never mind, I figured it out ... Diamond Star Motors. In the late 1980's, Chrysler and Mitsubishi formed a new joint partnership, called Diamond Star Motors (the name comes from Mitsubishi Diamond symbol and the Pentastar symbol of Chrysler). The early (1989-1994) Eclipse, Galant, Talon and Laser are the cars produced jointly via this partnership. In the mid-1990's, Chrysler and Mitsubishi parted ways and eliminated the Diamond Star partnership. However, later models of the Eclipse and Talon are generally still referred to as Diamond Stars.

Saying a FWD Honda is god-like compared to a AWD is ricer talk. Boy racer in America idolize Civics, boy racers in Japan like Sprinter Truenos , Miatas and vintage Silvias, even Type R's are just another car over there. and DOHC VTECs arent all that fast. An 00 Si still takes over 7 secs 0-60
