Nissan 350z (Tamiya)

This is an attempt at replicating my 2006 Nissan 350z in Chrome Silver.
Progress thread here:
http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...=676775&page=2
The Tamiya kit is good but it has it's shortcomings. The chassis detail is all molded in for one. I had trouble with the windsheild/glass piece, so it is uneven on the driver's side. I missed a bunch of mold lines too. Panel lines are heavy.
The headlights/tails are correct for '03, not '06.
Couldn't duplicate a Nismo exhaust.
Aoshima just released a correct and detailed Z33, so it made finishing this model tough.
I added little things like the 19" Volks, S2k antenna (graciously donated by Willimo), ZCarGarage stickers, and license plate to be faithful with the 1:1. I also kept the ride height closer to the real car, though I wanted to slam itStoptech's are a future mod. Love the metal transfers in the kit!
The 1:1

Re: Nissan 350z (Tamiya)

I was thinking about this WIP a few days back!
"Would that guy decided between the TE37 or the CE28's? Hmm..."

And then I look here today and ZING! Here's the model finished!! Beautiful!
Awesome work on both!!

(But one thing: The wheels on your car doesn't got the "Volk" logo on them...Are you going to put them on the car?)

Awesome work!

Very clean built, I like that, but to tell the truth, I like the 1:1 a little bit better...

Nice model and 1:1. I always loved 300zxs and now im a pretty big fan of 350z. Nice execution, i like the 02 sensor wires! May i ask, did you dyno it yet with the exhaust?

Re: Nissan 350z (Tamiya)

superb work man, like I said in the wip thread, replicas of owned cars always tend to have more soul, and this one is an excellent reminder of that. Your kit turned out looking very life like, esp the detailing on the wheels. Great work!

Re: Nissan 350z (Tamiya)

It looks really good despite it's flaws. All in all it's a very VERY clean build and an accurate replica. Much respect to you

Re: Nissan 350z (Tamiya)

Damn nice results! I so wish that I had a kit of my 1:1, but Jeeps are not exactly Z cars. OH well for me. I am so glad you have the exact wheels and everything else as it looks completely accurate!
