Re: overheating problems again!!

are you sure you don't have [another] leak somewhere causing it to lose coolant? do you have the proper mixture of coolant?(not just water). Only reason I ask is because I have a friend who thinks he can just keep adding water...at some point he has to use coolant or it'll just be water in there. Also, are both cooling fans working correctly?

knowing the lumina qite well i have 2 questions for you ?? when you had the heads off did you #1 have them crack & presure checked and # 2 did you also have them checked for warpage? the 3.1 has a very bad habit of cracking heads when the head gasket becomes a problem. usually when the gaskets leak either to the out side of to the oil them have become warped past allowable tolerances i hope this helps you out some ! if you would like to you can direct e-mail me at [email protected] . we have been using lumina both early generation and late model for a lot of years and have came across most promblems with them so if you need info just mail me thank you andrew

Re: overheating problems again!!

by over-heated, do you mean the guage went high but the car seemed to still run normal, or the engine actually started ticking/smoking/steaming/shut down due to getting too hot? There's a BIG difference.
