1980 Espirit S2---newbie

I am considering looking at a '80 Espirit S2, non-turbo. The car hasn't been on the road for six (6) years. Being new to Lotus, is there anything I should be looking out for? Whats the availability of parts? I know the car needs, at least, a windshield. Are they readily available?

Any help will be greatly appriceiated.

RWolak:

The Esprit S2 is a great car, but you must understand there was a lack of quality control. Parts are readily available from Dave Bean Engineering (www.DaveBean.com) and Jeff Robinosn at JAE Parts (www.JAEParts.com). You'll most likely be on your own for most of the work.

I'd also suggest you join Lotus Ltd. (www.LotusLtd.org) the North American Lotus club. They have a tech group available for quesitons.
