interior auto dimming rearview mirror

I have a 2001 LS regal with a auto dimming rearview mirror with map lights. Yesterday a large bubble appeared in the mirror,(air ?), that moves around the mirror covering a third of the mirror. Nothing is leaking, I don't know if the auto dimming still works. What is causing the problem and should the mirror be replaced ?

more smaller bubbles appearing in mirror, got rid of it and replaced with a regular mirror.

where you bought the regular miiror. You driver side mirror still working
auto dim or with a regular inside mirror, everything is off.
