99 Taurus 1451 code
Just got a 1451 code (of course after I cleaned the motor). Any suggestions? Thank you

Re: 99 Taurus 1451 code
Looked it up for you,, canister vent solenoid issue.. either there's a circuit issue which could be, maybe a connection got wet when you cleaned the motor, maybe something became unhooked,,, the pcm has failed, resistance, ground problem... I'd fool around with the connections first since this happened after the cleaning, take it from there.

Re: 99 Taurus 1451 code
You didn't use a pressure washer or steam cleaner to clean the engine, did you? If so, the number 1 culprit is moisture in a connector with "unplugged connector or hose" in a close 2nd.

Re: 99 Taurus 1451 code
not a pressure washer but I did use a hose. I'll do a little more digging and see if it comes up again. Thank you

Re: 99 Taurus 1451 code
I had reset the CEL and it came back on again. The vehicle seems to run fine but can you give me an idea where I should start looking on this to check connections? I apologize but I am not real familiar with the Taurus like I am with the Crown Vic. Thank you
