Exclamation Squeak??

Ok, well here is my problem. My gf was driving her car (97' Cavalier 2.4l 5sp) and she was driving down the highway and came to a stop. She stopped the car in 4th gear without putting the clutch in. There was a lot of "movement" from the engine. Now there is a problem. When ever she starts to move from a stop or hits a bump there is a "squeak" noise. Almost sounds like metal on metal. I'm not too sure what this could be. I don't know much about these kinds of cars. Any help would be very very helpful. Thanks.

Re: Squeak??

first teach her how to properly stop and to push in on the clutch. second check motor mounts and brake lines. a brake line could have collapsed when the car shakes if you dont push in the clutch with the brake when stopping.
