idle is to fast

hi i just had my escort turned up and a day later after the car wams up the
idle goes way up.what could they have done to cause this.any help thanks

Vacume leak. Or somthing is holding the throttle plate open, or gas pedal. Make sure the throttle snap's back all the way. Could also be a problem with the IAC (idle air control) valve. Or a vac leak from the EGR.

What year is your Escort? That'd help a lot in diagnosing what to do.

sorry it's a 1998 was fine until i got it back.they said they don't see anything wrong.

I'd check the "butterfly valve" in the throttle body. Sounds as though it may be "gummed up" but check the other suggestions givin in here.

Sounds like the idle control valve.
Mine is a piece of shit. I just put this stuff in my tank every once and a while, and the check engine light will go off and it'll stop sticking.
I think it's just carbon or something that gets built up. Just buy some fuel treatment. The kind that will clean injectors and everything else.
