99 pontiac grand am keyless entry remote?

I bought one off ebay and it came with instructions and it is not working. Is there different instructions? Where can I get some better directions?

Hate to seem dumb here, but more info is needed. You bought a "factory" remote for 99 GA off ebay? Did you already have "factory" RKE and a remote? Or are you talking aftermarket?
