questions about bmw's

hi i was looking into buying a '93 325i, and i was just wondering if the life of bmw's in general can go well into the hundred thousand's. And if bmw's are known for having certain flaws. I guess im asking the pros and cons. thanks

Re: questions about bmw's

I Have A 1984 Bmw 633csi
My Question Is, The Oil Light Is Blinking, When I Step
On The Accelerator The Light Goes Out. I Changed The Oil Sensor But The Light Continues To Blink.
There Is No Blue Smoke And I Burn About Half Quart
A Month On Oil. Any Answers!

Thanks,
Santib

Is the car idling at the right RPM??? If it idles too slow there isnt enough oil pressure to keep it out. Mine idles most of the time at 900 rpm but sometimes when it idles at a lower RPM the light stays on. If it is idling correctly you may want to put in a manual guage temporarily and check it out. The sending unit on the notor might be bad, or worse yet the oil pump may be getting bad, or the wrong viscostiy of oil is being used. I have to run 15W 50 in mine, dont know what is supposed to be right but if I run anything thinner I have a lot of lifter noise.
