1985 Bronco II will not shift

Okay, just bought this thing and I back out of the driveway today and try to go back into first and it will not shift. in fact it will no longer shift into any gear. on top of this, when it seems to be in neutral, it is aparently in some sort of gear, although I have no idea what gear it is. Otherwise it seems fine, runs good, no grinding from the clutch and whatnot, i am severly disapointed at this point and have no idea what to do!! Any suggestions?

Standard trans ??
If so, is the shifter sloppy . Might need a new shifter assembly, the ball at the base of the shifter may be broken.
