I have a 96 j30 bought new in 96, no problems until this year. car idles down and cuts off, have had diagnosis done by nissan dealer, they couldn't find problem. I have had catalytic converter installed, fuel injector service. carbon cleaned on egr, egr replaced as well as egr temp sensor. Put in coils last year. as well as fuel pump. but i noticed in the forum that its bad to drive the car past a quarter tank. would this have made the pump bad again. when driving on the interstate the car appears to miss but doesn't drive bad.

- if that 'cut' is sharp, most probably its in electronics like bad ign sw, ecu pwr supply relay, cam pos sensor, wirings to those or main fuses. (One dead injector or plug causes only sputter.) Check out whattoDIY with connectors, relay connectors, groundings.

- Fuel pump makes noise, listen. Pressure up: the fuel hose feels stiff.

- nissan stealership? lol. Get filthy rich - never visit that shop.

- quarter tank? must be the 'magic men evening stories'... Its worse when tank goes empty - must start pushing. (Some of them even try to tell ya engine sparks are bad; now try to drive without...)

- probably this miss is unrelated, maybe. One plug bad?

Another Thing It Coulf Be Is The Mas/iat Sensor. It Is The Mas Air Flow Sensor And Intake Air Temp Sensor Combin. If It Starts To Go Out Then You Wont Be Goin Anywhere. Have It Tested Just To See If Its Not The Check The Plugs Anddistrib Cap

This changes the whole vista: Like said, maybe also MAF and/or O2.

If its only when COLD, its Throttle Pos Sensor TPS:
