Re: Need help with Aztek airbrush
What model?
Gravity feed or syphon feed? Type of paint? Was the paint thinned? What air pressure?

Re: Need help with Aztek airbrush
Syphon feed, of course thinned, tamiya acrylic, low-mid pressure, not sure what model but I got it a Wal mart.

Re: Need help with Aztek airbrush
If you're not getting anything coming out, there must be a cog someplace, or the nozzle isn't installed properly. It could also be a leak in the airline, either where it mates to the air supply or in the hose itself: If had that drop pressure from the can so much that it would barely shoot paint.
You may have thinned the Tamiya paint with the wrong medium: Always use Tamiya thinner or 90% isopropyl alcohol. Other kinds of thinners can cause the paint to get lumpy and also clog the airbrush (This happened to me as well, using enamel thinner with Pactra's lacquer R/C paint). Worst-case is that you send the airbrush to Testors and they send you a new one. |

Re: Need help with Aztek airbrush
I use Tamiya thin with tamiya paint, cleaned out the entire thing, doe any one know if switched to a gravity feed one would be better? Once again thank you.

I think it is not the matter if it is a gravity feed or a syphon feed. Maybe you didnt thin your paint enough.
I used Tamiya Paint and Tamiya Thin as well, if you dont thin it enough, it still wont come out from the airbrush. Adding a drop or two each time and try again see if it works. I am a beginner as well, all you need is patience and keep trying different methods or other possibilities when you are stuck at something, it will end up coming out all good if not better.

Re: Need help with Aztek airbrush
I put that no patience part because my friend is pressuring me into finishing his Volkswagen emblem. Overall I have patience when it comes to working but when my tools let me down is when I get frustrated.

is there any air coming out of the nozzle at all. as the aztec range is common for unclipping internaly and stops working. And sometimes the needle gets stuck remove the nozzle and check if needle will move.

Re: Need help with Aztek airbrush
maybe stupid thought but I had a similar problem. Turned out that the small "pipe" connecting the gravity feed cups and syphon bottles to the airbrush main body had got clogged with residual gunk. cleaned them out with thinned down toothpicks and then it worked fine.
