Rover SUV Coming, perhaps.

If the news is true, MG Rover have designed a totally new SUV for Indian agricultural-vehicle maker Sonalika. This model to be called the 'Rhino' is due to be launched between March and May of this year. Although these rumours have been unfounded, Sonalika have been deffinately working on some kind of passenger vehicle. It would also be sensible to assume that the Rhino will be the first application of the long-awaited RD/X60 platform from Rover, in an AWD configuration which is a shortened and re-engineered version of the 75s. Although very little is known about this vehicle, Sonalika can confirm that engines will be donated by MG Rover's engineering firm Powertrain and will come in some form of a 2.0litre, this could only mean the 2.0litre V6 K-Series or a 2.0litre Turbo Diesel. Sonalika have used Powertrain to cut costs of developing its own power plants.

Although most of these details are all speculative there will be some kind of SUV emerging in the next couple of months which will have some sort of MG Rover involvement. Its very unclear if it will ever wear a Rover or MG badge or ever be imported to the UK or Europe but it would really nice to see if it was and carried the Rover badge.
